The Adventurer boys began kayaking yesterday. Traveling down to brave the cold waters of Lake Santa Maria where Nathaniel Reuter taught the group the basics of kayaking. The campers enjoyed the activity and wanted to spend the whole day on the water. A few brave souls even made the plunge into the water, immediately running to the warmth of their towels. Meanwhile the Adventurer girls prepared for their overnight trip to the Bear Cave. They will leave today at 3pm, and hike up from the ranch to the Bear Cave, where they will spend the night. In the morning they will continue up the mountain to the treeline. They are packing their gear and waiting to start their awesome adventure!
While the Adventurers do their activities and go on overnights, the Trekkers leave for their skill tracks today. With groups going backpacking, kayaking on the Arkansas River, rock climbing at Turkey Rocks, and mountain biking in Poncha Springs. The Trekkers have been preparing for the past few days for this trip and are very excited to put what they have learned to use.
