Pathfinders, Adventurers, Trekkers, Teen Adventures

WHAT:

At Camp Santa Maria we love our water and our kayaks. The Pathfinders get a chance to get into our kayaks as part of afternoon electives. During this time they can use the kayaks in the lake. The Adventurers will get a chance to learn more skills with the kayaks with time in the lake and pool. Trekkers can take Kayaking as one of their Skill Tracks during their two-week session.

Our Teen Adventure Campers can take our 1-week Kayak trips each summer. During this trip the campers spend a huge amount of time in kayaks and in the water. They get to go with a guiding company and learn basic and advanced kayaking skills including rolling and reading the river. Whenever a camper is in a kayak they wear a life jacket. And if campers are on a river, they wear helmets too.

WHEN:

Daily during electives, or as part of an overall program for the Adventurers and Trekkers. And as the core component to the Teen Adventure Camp’s Kayak trip.
