Get Ready for Fun and Adventure!

There is something special and unique about spending part of your summer in the Rocky Mountains kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, skateboarding, filmmaking, creating art and roasting marshmallows by the campfire. It’s not only about activities at camp; it’s also about making amazing friends, supportive counselors, playing all-camp games, being part of a community and performing skits. Don’t miss your chance to live and play outdoors in the Rocky Mountains this summer at YMCA Camp Santa Maria!

Where Kids Thrive

Growing up is a series of discoveries about who you are and the gifts you have to share. There’s no place quite like YMCA Camp Santa Maria to bring those gifts to life! At YMCA Camp Santa Maria, caring role models are committed to helping kids build skills, confidence, character and community. Our programs are camper-centered rather than pre-packaged.

Getting creative through art programs, beating the heat at the waterfront and pool, playing sports, and hiking through the beautiful landscapes are just some of the ways we spend our days at YMCA Camp Santa Maria. There are endless activities to explore, and lots of friends to enjoy them with. The fun doesn’t end when the sun goes down. Evenings at camp are spent playing games, performing skits, singing songs or sitting by the campfire.

At YMCA Camp Santa Maria, spending your time doing fun, unique and challenging activities is a huge part of what makes camp so special. Sure you can do some of the things we do at Santa Maria at home or at school, but not many! Every day, our campers get to experience a wide variety of activities, including but not limited to:

Overnight Camp and Youth Development

YMCA Camp Santa Maria combines fun outdoor experiences with age-appropriate activities based on the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The daily rhythm of camp has plenty of room for choice and creativity, so campers can follow their interests and strive for their personal best. We strive to connect campers to others, the environment and themselves. At the same time, kids grow and thrive as cabin groups and as a camp community. Counselors are experienced and enthusiastic about helping kids adapt to and enjoy the overnight camp experience.

Cabin Life

While we believe in the power of our activities, there is nothing more valuable to the long-term development of our campers than the experience of sharing a cabin with a group of peers and staff from different towns, states and countries. For us, cabin life is the cornerstone of a summer camp experience, and an important step for many children in developing independence and self-awareness. Each cabin group of up to 12 campers is guided by at least 2 adult summer camp counselors who are trained to help their campers grow as a community while developing their communication, trust and problem-solving skills. Our cabins are rustic in style with electricity, along with a centrally-located bathhouse that has showers and bathrooms.

At YMCA Camp Santa Maria, campers discover not just the wonders of the outdoors but the joy of exploring their unique traits, talents and interests. Campers learn the power of sharing their skills and strengths to benefit their cabin groups and the entire YMCA Camp Santa Maria community. Whether your child is spending the night away from home for the first time or your camper is building life skills year after year, time spent at YMCA Camp Santa Maria builds memories that last a lifetime.
